Child author's adventure is just beginning

"I love to write," said Reid. "But my favorite feeling is when I finish."

Father and son said they have no present plans for derivative films, video games and merchandise based on the series.

Then, of course, neither did British author Rowling when she penned her first book about the adolescent wizard Harry Potter in 1997. She's now the world's first billionaire author.
