Published January 10, 2008 01:15 pm - New Publishers Named in Massachusetts Group Karen Andreas has assumed the role of publisher at The Salem News in Beverly, MA. Karen had been the group executive editor and vice president of news for the nine CNHI daily and weekly papers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Sheila Smith was named publisher of the Daily News of Newburyport (MA). Sheila most recently served as general manager and chief financial officer for CNHI’s Massachusetts and New Hampshire newspapers.
Ellen Zappala has taken on the role of publisher for the four area weeklies: Andover Townsman, The Haverhill Gazette, the Derry News and The Carriage Towne News. Ellen has a long history with the weekly newspapers, most recently serving as a vice president in the group.
