Pets of the Week - September 20, 2007

Oreo (black face) and Reese (black/white face) are both domestic shorthair males.  Both have been neutered and both are current on vaccinations.  Oreo is 5 years old and Reese is 3 years old.  These wonderful boys were taken to Animal Control by their uncaring and cruel previous "owners".  There was a new baby in the house, and it was decided that the cats had to go.....even though they had not bothered the baby nor had they done anything else wrong.  These people were told that if they left the two cats at Animal Control, they would be gassed quickly.  Even with this knowledge, they chose to leave Oreo and Reese behind.  Luckily for the cats, staff from Clayton County Humane were present and heard the whole sordid story.  Wanting the former "owners" to have to live with the thought that the cats had been destroyed because of their decision, CCHS staff waited until they were gone and then rescued the two boys.  Oreo and Reese are sweet, wonderful cats who deserve so much more than they have been given so far.  They are great friends and would love to go to a new home together.  Because these two really need to get out of the shelter environment,  a very special adoption fee is in place for anyone qualifying for their joint adoption.  For more information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531.  Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see more animals available for adoption.
