Eleanor W. Jackson
Eleanor W. Jackson, 84, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away September 20. Mrs. Jackson was a member of First Christian Church of Stockbridge. She was a faithful co-laborer in ministry for over 60 years with her husband, Raymond, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Anne Watkins of McDonough; sons, Stephen Jackson and wife Jane of Carrollton, Thom Jackson of Surfside Beach, S.C., Tim Jackson and wife Nancy of McDonough, Ga.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Raymond and Eleanor Jackson Scholarship at Johnson Bible College, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, Tenn. 37998, (865) 573-4517. Funeral services will be held Today, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2 pm at Ward's Fairview Chapel with the Rev. Jim Van Winkle officiating. Jonathan (Johnny) Glenn Smith
Jonathan (Johnny) Glenn Smith, 45, of McDonough passed away September 14.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Felicia Smith of Maine; mother, Ruby Burnett of Conyers; sister, Jennifer Spann of Marietta; brother, Jeff Smith of Covington; partner in life, Tracy Cash of Jonesboro; niece, Elise Spann; nephew, Noah Spann. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Glen Smith and stepfather, Grady Burnett. He was a member of Carpenter's Union #225 and did volunteer work for Rebuild Atlanta. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 24, at 2 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Brooks Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge (770) 474-1231.
Mrs. Evelyn McDaniel Crawford
Mrs. Evelyn McDaniel Crawford, 80 of Hampton, passed away Sept. 20, at the St. Francis Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Waynesville, N.C. to the late William C. and Essie McClure McDaniel. She retired after 20 years with the United States Postal Service. She was a former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Griffin, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved to shop at thriftstores and yard sales.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by her children, Sharon and (William) Daws of Stockbridge, Carolyn Brown and (Richard) of Hampton and Linda Wheeler and (James) of Molena; grandchildren, Michael C. (Buddy) Payne, Bonnie S. Rutledge, Reinhart (Feller) Schauer, IV, Shawna Kraft, Jason Wheeler and Ashley Hicks; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Jeri Woody of Camilla; special caregiver, Mike (Dude) Corbitt; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crawford will be Sunday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Garrison officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
