The paper welcomes news of all types from the community from church news, business briefs, events coming up and also encourages suggestions for stories about events, people and interesting happenings.
You can fax your news in at (770) 472-2060, e-mail it to editor@news.daily.com or bring it by our offices from 8 a.m . to 5 p.m. at 138 Church Street in Jonesboro.

The News runs school news and items of interest each Wednesday and religious briefs on Friday. The paper, however, will run news on any day if an event can’t wait until the next week. We make every effort to print every submission in a timely manner.
Information should include a contact number in case we need additional information.
If you see a news event, please call the newsroom. We appreciate any tips on things going on in the county.

The paper also encourages letters from readers about topics of interest. The letter should be signed and also should include a telephone number so the paper can confirm the letter before printing it. Letters should be of reasonable length and should discuss issues and not personalities. Letters of opposing views will also be printed.

The paper runs obituaries. They should be submitted by the funeral home and there is a charge based on the length and other factors.

The paper also prints a weekly publication that includes the best stories of the week and this is distributed free throughout the county.
