Calendar

The outdoor calendar runs every Friday. Items should be submitted by fax 684-2865, e-mail at sports@muskogeephoenix.com or submitted in writing to the Phoenix at 214 Wall Street during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Items must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday for inclusion in the next calendar.

THIS WEEK

Friday-Sunday— National Wild Turkey Federation Women in the Outdoors event at Tenkiller State Park, Vian. Sign up to try rappelling, dutch oven cooking, skeet shooting, knife forging, mountain biking, fossil collection, basic fishing and wood art. Women in the Outdoors is for ladies 14 and older. The event costs $50 for a single day, $65 for two days. There are mother-daughter specials too. Contact Leann Bunn, 489-5641.

Nov. 10-11 —FIRE Training Session in Muskogee, 7-9 p.m. FIRE is a weather-based decision-support system for wildland fire managers in Oklahoma. Applications include both wildfire and prescribed fire. Training sessions will be directed by Dr. J. D. Carlson, OSU fire meteorologist and director of the OK-FIRE program.
