WARNER — C.J. Washington, a 6-foot-7 sophomore center for the Connors men’s basketball team, has a broken nose and will have surgery Thursday. Washington suffered the injury on a rebound with 12 minutes left in Monday’s game against Arkansas Baptist. He didn’t return. Connors won, 83-67. He will play in tonight’s 7:30 game against the Bacone junior varsity at Melvin Self Field House and will wear a mask. “The doctor said he can’t hurt it any worse,” Connors coach Bill Muse said. Washington will sit out the Cowboys’ game on Nov. 9 at Oklahoma City against the Mid-American JV and could return for the Nov. 11 home game against the Oklahoma Baptist JV. Six-foot-7 freshman forward Jarvis Garner, 6-8 freshman center Corderio Maclin or 6-7 freshman forward Tevin Worthy could replace Washington in the lineup.
