Muskogee City Council Public Works and Finance Committees at a glance



At its regular meetings Tuesday, the Muskogee City Council Public Works and Finance Committees, regular meetings, and a special meeting of Muskogee Municipal Authority, the groups approved:

• Contracts between American Municipal Services and the city of Muskogee for the collection of warrants and past due terminated utility accounts. New contract will include provisions authorized by changes in state law allowing a collection fee of 25 percent.

• Accepting petition from citizens to increase the speed limit from 35 mph to 45 mph on East Hancock Street, beginning at Country Club Road and ending at East 55th Street. Item was forwarded to City Council with no recommendation.

• Mutual police assistance agreement with Wagoner County.

• Resolution of Support for the 2010 U.S. Census and a Partnership Agreement indicating the areas of assistance with the Census Bureau.

• Industrial Pretreatment Annual Report.

• Appointment of Brad Smythe to the Parks and Recreation Board, term to end July 31, 2013.

• Appointment of Wilma Newton to the Historic Preservation Commission, term to end Oct. 31, 2012.

• Resolution declaring the four lots on the corner of Lenapah and 12th streets, as surplus property and authorize the sale of the property to Muskogee Housing Assistance for $652.

• Ordinance creating Street Commission.

• Change order deducting $11,567.71 from the construction contract with Van Horn Construction for expansion of the Muskogee Water Treatment Plant.
