Published October 31, 2009 11:29 pm - Teen injured in single-vehicle crash A Muldrow teenager was injured in an early morning collision Saturday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Amber O’Neal, 19, was stable when she was admitted to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., but her condition was unavailable Saturday afternoon. O’Neal was injured at approximately 6 a.m. on Interstate 40 about 1 1/2 miles west of Muldrow in the eastbound lanes. The trooper’s report said O’Neal was driving a 2000 Honda Accord eastbound, ran off the left side of the road for approximately 230 feet and struck a guardrail. The car continued eastbound, striking a bridge curb, causing the vehicle to flip 1 1/2 times, landing on its top. The trooper’s report states the cause of the collision was driving under the influence. The report also said the car was equipped with seat belts, but O’Neal was not wearing one. The vehicle’s airbags did deploy.
