Times West Virginian continues Newspaper of the Year streak

The Times West Virginian of Fairmont is the state's Newspaper of the Year for the seventh year in a row.

The West Virginia Press Association's top honor goes to the newspaper that performs best in the group's annual advertising and editorial contests, regardless of size or circulation.

The Times West Virginian earned 25 editorial and 24 advertising awards in this year's contest, including a community service prize for its work to address bullying in local schools. The newspaper also won first place in General Excellence in its division.

The Newspaper of the Year award was announced at the association's annual meeting Aug. 11, at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, W.Va.
