TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Terry Erwin, former publisher of the Poteau Daily News in Le Flore County, has been named publisher of the Tahlequah Daily Press, effective immediately.
Steve McPhaul, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., owner of the Tahlequah Daily Press, said Erwin has the experience and the imagination to serve the market well. “We look forward to continued success under Terry Erwin,” said McPhaul.
Erwin said he was aware of the Tahlequah Daily Press’ reputation for professionalism, quality and connection to the community prior to becoming its publisher.
He said he plans to work with community leaders and the business community to help Tahlequah and environs grow and prosper. He said digital as well as print advertising opportunities will assist in that effort.
“This is a great community, with the lake and the river and the downtown,” said Erwin. “I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Erwin is a native of Santa Barbara, California, and a 1981 graduate of Pepperdine University, which he attended on a water polo scholarship. He has an adult son and two grandchildren.
